Paganini 200 — The European Paganini Route
A career built around Niccolò Paganini now carries forward as a single, continent-wide project through 2032 — Paganini 200: a multi-season initiative anchored between Vienna and Genova, marking, over the coming seasons, the 200th anniversary of the tour that made Paganini Europe's first musical superstar.
Paganini's grand European tour opened in Italy in 1827, and reached its symbolic peak in March 1828, when his Vienna debut set off what the press of the day called "Paganini fever." Two centuries later, Paganini 200 follows that same arc — from Genova, across Italy and Central Europe, to Vienna — returning Paganini's own story to the stages and institutions that first made it. The project is carried by four institutions built over the past decade, each with its own history:
European Paganini Route
The umbrella framework for the entire project: a Cultural Route officially certified by the Council of Europe, connecting conservatories, festivals, municipalities and cultural institutions across the continent around Paganini's shared heritage. Mario Hossen serves as the Route's Artistic Ambassador.
